Marieke Hohnen acquires 'Hertz, Training for Scientists'

Brigitte Hertz, owner of the agency "Hertz, Training for Scientists," contacted Next Steps Mergers & Acquisitions back in late 2023. An external candidate had come forward to take over the agency, transferring operational management. But the external candidate had a great job, with many fringe benefits and security, and soon this adventure turned out not to be in his way: he stayed with his employer.

Then at the end of 2024, another candidate came around the corner. One of the trainers Brigitte worked with, Marieke Hohnen, had ears for the idea of taking over the agency. The prospects were good, everything seemed to be in place. Nevertheless, together we went through all the steps to properly transfer the company: discussions about the most important conditions (resulting in a Term Sheet), the valuation with a thorough explanation on both sides. A Letter of Intent in which the last points were ironed out, and - after an audit - finally the Final Purchase Agreement: on July 1, all assets will be transferred to Marieke Hohnen's new BV.

Marieke takes over leadership of the agency; Brigitte remains associated with the agency as a trainer and developer of new training courses.
