At Backbone Marketing in Amersfoort, a logical moment for succession arose. Backbone is a well-established marketing agency with long-term client relationships with some great international clients such as Beiersdorf and Wasa Barilla.

Within the team, Dominic van de Bunt had been working as a project leader for some time. He knew the company, the clients and the way of working. Dominic was given the opportunity to take over and continue the value he had built up.

What made this process special was the great mutual trust in which the acquisition took place. The entire process up to the transaction ultimately took 5 months. This was experienced by Dominic as very pleasant.

Not a classic takeover but a conscious choice

An asset liability transaction was deliberately chosen. A number of clients were acquired and placed in a Dominic's new company: WeDo Marketing.

This approach provided clarity. Dominic was able to continue with a clean structure, while a number of clients moved silently with him. For them, hardly anything changed except the name.

Why Next Steps

Dominic chose Next Steps because of its extensive experience in corporate acquisitions in the Marketing sector and by the personal and often quick contact, which did not feel like something business-like, but really like a sparring partner. He experienced that as something pleasant.

A transition that was barely perceptible

The transfer focused on continuity. Customers were personally included in the story, the services remained the same and the familiar faces remained the same.

Because sellers and buyer worked together on this, the transition was smooth and without unnecessary uncertainty.

A new phase for everyone

For Dominic, this is the beginning of his own course as an entrepreneur, with the confidence of his predecessors and a solid foundation to build on.

Above all, the Next Steps team wishes Dominic a bright future as an entrepreneur.
